How do I know which bootcamp is right for me?

Please carefully read which bootcamp is right for me? and the detailed information on each level of bootcamp. If you are still not sure, contact us.

Why are the bootcamps split into different levels?

We will be working as one group most of the time, therefore it is important that all the dancers are of a similar level and understanding.

I did a bootcamp last year, should I move up a level this year?

Not necessarily. It depends on your grasp of the material in the previous bootcamp, how you coped with the pace, and your dance development since. If you are unsure, please contact us.

Why is there no Advanced On1 Bootcamp?

From our years of teaching experience we have found that a significant number of people who attend Advanced classes are not at that level, frustrating for the true advanced dancers in the class. On our bootcamps you will spend a whole weekend with a small group, so people who are not of the required level do stand out! This is not beneficial to anyone. Therefore we have decided to make the advanced levels by invitation only (as we do at our regular school). This ensures that everyone participating is of the required level and understanding, particularly of our methods. To be invited it is necessary to attend an Intermediate On1 bootcamp and demonstrate proficiency in the required skills.
Currently the majority of advanced dancers we have listed have converted and prefer On2, which makes an adv On1 bootcamp unnecessary at this time. We will consider future advanced On1 bootcamps when we have enough people who have been on an intermediate On1 bootcamp, who can demonstrate proficiency in the required techniques to progress to an adv level (that is of course if they don't convert to on2 in the meantime!).

Why are some Bootcamps by application only?

The application process applies advanced level bootcamps and the imp/int On2 bootcamp. From our years of teaching experience we have found that a significant number of people who attend advanced classes are not at that level, frustrating for the true advanced dancers in the class. As the bootcamps are for a whole weekend and with a small group, we have decided to make the advanced levels by application only - as we do at our regular school. This ensures that everyone participating is of the required level and understanding, particularly of our methods. With regards the imp/int on2 bootcamp, it is really important that all participants on this bootcamp have good timing On2, and do not bypass the Conversion bootcamp if they are still in the process of learning to dance On2.

I didn't get my booking in on time, will you be doing more bootcamps?

Yes, definitely! We have had an amazing response to the bootcamps at all levels and are constantly planning ahead, so contact us to let us know of your interest, and we will keep you updated!

What is Salsa Surgery?

On certain bootcamps you will have the opportunity to book a short individual 'appointment' with Marchant & Davina. This is specifically to get personal feedback on leading/following. This is an optional aspect to the bootcamp. There is also plenty of opportunity over the weekend to ask questions and get help with workshop content.

What will I need on the bootcamp?

Comfortable dancewear! Lots of t-shirts, stretchy training bottoms, jazz shoes, and dance heels for ladies. The evenings will be casual, so leave the party frocks behind!
Sweater/jumper for seated sessions.
Also bring a mat/towel to lie on for stretch sessions. Swimwear for leisure facilities.
You may also want to bring notepad & pen to jot down notes.

Can I video the workshops?

We will give opportunity for you to take video footage of certain sequences used during workshops. Permission will be given at specific times during the bootcamp. We ask that you do not film during workshops

Do I need to book with a partner?

No. We will rotate partners during all workshops which involve partnerwork. However, as we always attempt to keep the ratio between men & women equal, we do reserve a certain amount of 'couples' places on each bootcamp to help keep the numbers balanced. A 'couple' is a man & woman booking together, you don't need to share a room.

Can I purchase day/weekend passes without accommodation?

As the numbers are limited we have arranged with the hotels that all attendees will be staying onsite. Therefore we are only offering full residential packages.

How much do the bootcamps cost?

£189 per person, based on 2 people sharing a twin/double room. This includes full bootcamp program, 2 nights half board hotel accomodation (breakfast & dinner), and full use of leisure facilities. Supplement applies to single occupancy of double room.

How do I book?

Visit the page of the Bootcamp you are interested in. Ensure you read all the information given and terms & conditions before proceeding to booking. You will find the link to booking at the bottom of each bootcamp page (before testimonials). You can pay online via Paypal, or post us your booking with cheque payment. Full details are on the booking pages.
